Medical Description

Ace-Proxyvon SP tablet is a pain-relieving medicine used to provide relief from pain and inflammation of joints, bones and muscles. It is also used to treat post-operative inflammation, swelling and pain. This tablet contains a combination of aceclofenac, paracetamol and serratiopeptidase as active substances. You should take this medicine in the exact dose and duration as prescribed by your doctor. Before using the Ace-Proxyvon SP tablet, inform the doctor about your medical history. If you develop any symptoms of liver damage or allergies like swelling of the face/mouth/throat, itching, rashes or difficulty breathing during treatment with Ace-Proxyvon SP tablet, talk to your doctor immediately. Ace-Proxyvon SP tablet should not be used for longer durations than recommended by your doctor.

  • Ace-Proxyvon SP tablet is used for relieving pain and inflammation of muscles and joints.
  • It is also used after operations and surgeries for relieving pain, inflammation, and swelling.

Contraindications

  • If you are allergic to paracetamol, aceclofenac, serratiopeptidase, or any other ingredient of Ace-Proxyvon SP tablet.
  • If you have a history of allergies to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines (NSAIDs) like ibuprofen and aspirin. If you are not sure what these medicines are, please confirm with your doctor.
  • If you had or have two or more episodes of a stomach/intestinal ulcer or bleeding keeps reoccurring.
  • If you have any heart disease like heart failure and high blood pressure.
  • If you have liver or kidney disorders.
  • If you are pregnant.

Pregnancy

Ace-Proxyvon SP tablet should not be used in pregnant women unless recommended by the doctor after assessing the need and the risk. Ace-Proxyvon SP tablet is contraindicated for use in the last three months of pregnancy.

Talk to your doctor if
  • You are taking medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines (ibuprofen, celecoxib) or any other medicines that contain paracetamol.
  • You have kidney, liver, or heart problems.
  • You are elderly.
  • You are taking medicines called diuretics (furosemide) for treating high blood pressure/fluid accumulation.
  • You have breathing problems like asthma.
  • You develop allergies like swelling of the face/mouth/throat, itching, rashes, or difficulty breathing during treatment with Ace-Proxyvon SP tablet.
  • You have a history of high blood pressure.
  • You have a history of or develop ulcers, bleeding, or holes in the stomach/intestine.
  • You have a history of inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease).
  • You have a condition called systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).
  • You develop skin rashes and lesions after taking Ace-Proxyvon SP tablet.
  • You suffer from blood clotting disorders.

Directions for Use

  • Take Ace-Proxyvon SP tablet as a whole with sufficient water.
  • Do not chew, crush or break it.
  • Always take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
  • Do not consume more than the prescribed dose.

Storage and disposal

  • Store Ace-Proxyvon SP tablet in a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Dosage

Overdose

An overdose of Ace-Proxyvon SP tablet may cause liver damage. Symptoms of overdose include headache, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhoea, drowsiness, dizziness, ringing in the ears, and fainting. If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.

Missed a Dose

If you have missed any dose of Ace-Proxyvon SP tablet, take it as soon as you remember. If it's time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose of medicine to compensate for the missed one.

Mode of Action

How Does It Work?

  • Ace-Proxyvon SP tablet contains aceclofenac, paracetamol, and serratiopeptidase as active substances.
  • Aceclofenac and paracetamol are non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines (NSAIDs) that block the action of a chemical called cyclooxygenase. Cyclooxygenase is responsible for the formation of certain substances in the body called prostaglandins that cause pain and inflammation.
  • Serratiopeptidase reduces the relaxation of blood capillaries which controls fluid from the capillaries from oozing out and decreases swelling.

Interactions

Interactions with other medicines

  • Some medicines can affect the way Ace-Proxyvon SP tablet works, or Ace-Proxyvon SP tablet itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
  • Inform your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction
  • Do not take any other medicines containing paracetamol or aceclofenac as there is a risk of liver damage.
  • Particular care should be taken if you are taking medicines for treating high blood pressure, heart failure (digoxin), rheumatoid arthritis (methotrexate), mental disorders (lithium), blood clots (warfarin), HIV/AIDS (zidovudine), gout (probenecid), bacterial eye infections (chloramphenicol), depression (St. John's wort), tuberculosis (rifampicin).
  • Medicines used for treating fluid accumulation (furosemide, hydrochlorothiazide) can lead to kidney damage when taken along with Ace-Proxyvon SP tablet.
  • Medicines used to modify immune response during organ transplants like cyclosporine and tacrolimus can result in kidney damage if taken with Ace-Proxyvon SP tablet.
  • There is an increased risk of stomach/intestinal ulcers or bleeding when Ace-Proxyvon SP tablet is taken together with steroids like progesterone.
  • There is an increased risk of fits if you are taking Ace-Proxyvon SP tablet with medicines for treating bacterial infections like levofloxacin and ciprofloxacin.
  • The use of Ace-Proxyvon SP tablet with medicines used to treat fits/seizures (phenytoin, phenobarbital) may increase the risk of liver damage.

Interactions with food items

It is recommended to take Ace Proxyvon SP with food or milk to minimize the risk of stomach upset, nausea, and irritation. This can enhance absorption and reduce gastrointestinal discomfort.
