Ropinirole

This medicine is not recommended if you are pregnant unless your doctor advises that the benefit to you of taking it is greater than the risk to your unborn baby.

It is not advisable if you are breastfeeding, as it can affect your milk production.

You may feel drowsy. In sporadic cases, this medicine can make people feel extremely sleepy and it sometimes makes people fall asleep very suddenly without warning.

Avoid intake of alcohol.

Ropinirole should be taken in the exact dose as advised by the physician. Do not take more than the recommended dose of this medicine as overdose of Ropinirole can cause serious problems. Do not chew the extended-release tablet. Take Ropinirole with a full glass of water. It may be taken with or without food. Do not stop the medication suddenly as it may lead to worsening of the condition.

Ropinirole should be stored at room temperature, away from moisture, sunlight and heat. Keep out of the reach of children.

It is advisable to avoid taking Ropinirole during pregnancy and nursing. This drug will be prescribed during pregnancy only if the benefit to the mother outweighs the risk to the fetus. This drug inhibits the secretion of prolactin hormone essential for nursing and thus could potentially inhibit breastfeeding.
