It is a derivative of triphenylmethane and is used as a stimulant laxative.
Uses of Bisacodyl
It is prescribed to treat constipation, helps relieve occasional constipation and stool irregularities.
Contraindications of Bisacodyl
When should one not use Bisacodyl
- Are allergic to Bisacodyl
- Have severe dehydration
- Have a blockage in the intestine or have a blocked bowel (intestinal obstruction)
- Appendicitis
- Have stomach pain with nausea and vomiting
- Have swelling of the bowel (small or large intestine)
