When should one not use Bisacodyl
- Are allergic to Bisacodyl
- Have severe dehydration
- Have a blockage in the intestine or have a blocked bowel (intestinal obstruction)
- Have stomach pain with nausea and vomiting
- Have swelling of the bowel (small or large intestine)

It does not affect your ability to drive. If you experience drowsiness avoid driving.

How Does It Work?
This medicine works by stimulating the nerves of the digestive tract to cause large bowel contractions. It is also a contact laxative and increases fluid and salt secretion. The main action of this medicine is to promote bowel evacuation.

Interactions with other medicines
It has interactions with numerous other medicines including albuterol, amoxicillin, antacids, aspirin, diuretics (furosemide ), etc. Do not take without doctor’s advice.
Interactions with food items
Taking milk within 1 hour of administration of this medicine may cause gastric irritation.
Dosage of Bisacodyl
Overdose symptoms may include diarrhea, stomach cramps, muscle weakness, or urinating less than usual. Seek emergency medical care if you used too much of this medicine.
Missed a Dose
Since this medicine is used only once or as needed, you are not likely to be on a dosing schedule.
