Zonad 50 MG Description
Zonad Tablet contains a medicine called danazol as the active substance. It is used to treat endometriosis – an illness where some of the tissues that line the womb are found elsewhere in the body. Zonad Tablet is also used for the treatment of breast cysts (lumps) which may be painful but not malignant. It works by changing the way some hormones act in your body. Zonad Tablet is used where other treatments have not worked or when they cannot be taken. Take this medicine in the exact dose and duration as prescribed by your doctor. Uses of Zonad 50 MG
- Zonad Tablet is used for the treatment of endometriosis – an illness where some of the tissues that line the womb are found elsewhere in the body.
- It is also used to treat breast cysts (lumps) which may be painful, but not malignant.
Contraindications of Zonad 50 MG
- If you are allergic to danazol or any of the other ingredients of Zonad Tablet.
- If you are taking a cholesterol-lowering medicine called simvastatin. If you are not sure what this medicine is, please confirm with your doctor.
- If you have a rare inherited illness called porphyria that affects your metabolism.
- If you are pregnant, might become pregnant or think you may be pregnant.
- If you are breastfeeding.
- If you have kidney, liver or heart disease.
- If you ever had blood clots (thrombosis).
- If you have a type of cancer that is affected by hormones.
- If you have unusual vaginal bleeding which has not been checked by a doctor.

Pregnancy

Zonad Tablet is contraindicated for use in pregnancy. Women capable of becoming pregnant should be advised to use an effective, non-hormonal method of birth control. If you become pregnant during treatment, this medicine should be immediately stopped.
Breast Feeding

Driving

Can I drive if I have consumed Zonad 50mg Tablets?

Zonad Tablet has no effect on the driving ability. However, if you experience any effects after taking this medicine that may affect your ability to drive safely, it is advised to avoid driving.
Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with Zonad 50mg Tablets?
A:
No, alcohol should not be consumed while you are taking Zonad Tablet because drinking alcohol while taking this medicine can make you feel sick or short of breath.

How Does It Work?
Zonad Tablet works by changing the way some hormones act in your body.
Directions for Use of Zonad 50 MG
- Take Zonad Tablet as a whole with sufficient water.
- Always take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
- Do not cut, break or chew the medicine.
- Do not consume more than the prescribed dose.
- Do not stop taking this medicine on your own.
Interactions of Zonad 50 MG
Interactions with other medicines
- Some medicines can affect the way Zonad Tablet works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
- Inform your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
- Particular care should be taken if you are taking medicines like steroids such as testosterone, estrogen, progesterone (including hormone replacement therapy/HRT) and statins such as simvastatin.
- Zonad Tablet may increase the effect of the medicines used for the treatment of epilepsy, fits or convulsions (anticonvulsants), medicines used to thin the blood (anticoagulants such as warfarin), anaesthetics, cyclosporine and tacrolimus - used to stop the rejection of organs after a transplant and alfacalcidol (a form of vitamin D) used for vitamin D deficiency and illnesses where there is not enough calcium in the blood....
- Zonad Tablet may lower the effect of the medicines used for treating diabetes, high blood pressure (anti-hypertensives) and migraine.
Storage and disposal of Zonad 50 MG
- Store Zonad Tablet in a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.
Dosage of Zonad 50 MG
Overdose
If you think you have taken too much of Zonad Tablet, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.
Missed a Dose
If you missed any dose of Zonad Tablet, take it as soon as you remember. If it's time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to compensate for the missed one....
