Zentel 400 MG Description
Zentel tablet is an anti-worm medicine. It contains albendazole as its active ingredient. Zentel 400 tablet is used for treating stomach or intestinal infections caused by various worms. Albendazole
in Zentel deprives the worm of glucose and energy source, thus killing the worm. Children below 2 years of age should not take Zentel 400. Side effects of this tablet include stomach discomfort or pain, gas and headache. If you experience any other effects after taking Zentel 400 tablet or if it worsens your condition, consult your doctor immediately.

How Does It Work?
Albendazole in the Zentel tablet works by inhibiting or blocking the utilisation of glucose by the worm thereby causing decreased ATP formation and depletion of the energy source in the worm.

Interactions with other medicines
- Medicines used to reduce stomach acidity (antacids) like Cimetidine.
- Medicines used to treat fits or seizures (anti-seizure) like Carbamazepine, Phenytoin, Phenobarbital.
- Medicines used to treat worm infections (Praziquantel).
- Medicines used to suppress the immune response (Dexamethasone).
- Medicines used to treat HIV/ AIDS (Ritonavir).
- Discuss with your doctor about any other medicines, herbal preparations and supplements you are taking currently to avoid any possible interactions.
Interactions with food items
- Zentel tablet should be taken with food.
- Grapefruit or grapefruit juice should be avoided as it may worsen the side effects of the Albendazole.
