Medical Description
Yees tablet is prescribed for conditions related to excess stomach acid production, including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcer disease, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It works by reducing the amount of acid your stomach produces, which helps relieve symptoms and promote healing. Yees tablet can help prevent stomach ulcers caused by certain medications, especially nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
It is important to take this medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually on an empty stomach, preferably in the morning or at least 30 to 60 minutes before a meal. Continue taking it even if your symptoms improve until your doctor tells you to stop. If you need to take this medication for a long time, your doctor may recommend regular tests to monitor your magnesium levels, as they can decrease with prolonged use.
Common side effects include headache, constipation or diarrhea, stomach pain, and nausea. These side effects are generally mild, but if they are bothersome or persist, consult your doctor. The risk of side effects may increase with long-term use. Using it for a long time may also raise the chance of broken bones. It’s best to avoid foods that seem to worsen your symptoms, such as rich, spicy, and fatty foods. Reducing intake of caffeinated beverages like tea, coffee, and cola, as well as alcohol, may also help.
Yees tablet may not be suitable for everyone. Before starting this medication, tell your doctor if you have severe liver problems, are taking medications for HIV, have had allergic reactions to similar medications, or have osteoporosis. Although alcohol does not affect how Yees tablet works, it can increase stomach acid production. This medication may cause dizziness, drowsiness, or affect your vision. If you experience any of these, avoid driving, cycling, or operating machinery until you feel better. Generally, this medication is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
Uses
- Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD): It reduces severe acid reflux, persistent heartburn, and chest discomfort by stopping stomach acid from traveling back up into the esophagus.
- Erosive Esophagitis: It heals physical inflammation, swelling, and sores in the lining of the food pipe that occur from long-term exposure to stomach acid.
- Peptic Ulcer Disease: It promotes the healing of painful ulcers and sores that form in the lining of the stomach and the upper section of the small intestine.
- NSAID-Induced Ulcer Prevention: It reduces the risk of developing new stomach ulcers in individuals who need to take long-term pain relievers, such as Nonsteroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs.
- Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome: It controls abnormally high and massive amounts of acid production caused by rare tumors in the pancreas or small intestine.
- H. pylori Eradication: It is used in combination with specific antibiotics to help eliminate Helicobacter pylori bacterial infections, which are a primary cause of stomach ulcers.
