Medical Description

Vildamac M 50/500 MG is a combination of two medicines, metformin and vildagliptin. Metformin belongs to a group of medicines called biguanides. Vildagliptin belongs to a group of medicines called DPP-4 inhibitors. Vildamac M 50/500 MG is used to treat type 2 diabetes in adults when diet and exercise alone are not enough to control blood sugar levels. Type 2 diabetes is a chronic condition in which the body does not make enough insulin or does not use insulin properly. Insulin is a hormone that helps the body use glucose for energy.

Vildamac M 50/500 MG works by lowering blood sugar levels in two ways: Metformin helps the body use glucose for energy and reduces the amount of glucose produced by the liver. Vildagliptin helps the pancreas produce more insulin and reduces the amount of glucagon produced by the pancreas. Glucagon is a hormone that raises blood sugar levels. Galvus Met 50/500 tablet, Jalra M 50/500 tablet, Zomelis Met 50/500 tablet, Torglip M 50/500 tablet, Gliptagreat M 50/500 tablet and Vildapride M 50/500 tablet also contain vildagliptin and metformin as active ingredients.
