Medical Description

Ventidox-Bro Tablet contains a combination of Ambroxol and Doxofylline. It is used for the treatment of respiratory problems such as asthma and COPD (Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) symptoms may include tightness in your chest, shortness of breath, wheezing and coughing. It helps in relaxing the muscles of the respiratory tract and also removes the cough/mucus from the airways. Avoid smoking and exposure to dust and pollution. You should take this medicine regularly as per your physician instructions. If you stop it earlier, your symptoms may worsen.

Uses

It is used for the treatment of respiratory problems such as Asthma and COPD (Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease).

  • If you are allergic to Ambroxol and Doxofylline or any of the ingredients of Ventidox-Bro Tablet.

  • Doxofylline is a bronchodilator that relaxes the muscles that surround the airways of the lungs and allows them to open up.
  • Collectively these two medicines make breathing easier.

Interactions

Interactions with other medicines

  • Caution should be taken when certain antibiotics like Amoxicillin, Cefuroxime, lincomycin, clindamycin and Erythromycin are used concomitantly with Ventidox-Bro Tablet.
  • Other medicines are allopurinol, phenytoin, caffeine, cimetidine, propranolol, anti-flu vaccines should be used cautiously.
  • Ventidox-Bro Tablet may interact with other medicines. Discuss with your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbal preparations you are taking. Also, you should inform your doctor if you have a planned surgery or vaccination scheduled.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

No, it will not help in an acute attack of asthma. It is advised to take appropriate rescue medicine like inhalers given by your doctor during an asthma attack. Keep taking Ventidox-Bro Tablet as well and do not stop it abruptly.

Ventidox-Bro Tablet does not contain any substances reported to become habit-forming. However, it is advised that this medicine should not be used more than the prescribed time.
