Veltam Plus Tablet

• If you are allergic to tamsulosin, dutasteride or any of the ingredients of the Veltam Plus Tablet.
• If you are allergic to soy and peanut.
• If you have a liver disorder or liver function problem.
• If you experience giddiness or fall when you gradually get up from a sitting position.

• Low sexual drive
• Ejaculation problem
• Impotence
• Breast enlargement
• Tenderness in breast
• Dizziness

Other General Warnings

• You have a history of heart disease, chest pain and breathlessness.
• You feel giddiness, fainting or fall when you gradually get up.
• You have a history of liver or kidney problems.
• You have planned a cataract surgery, you may be asked to stop taking this medicine 2 weeks before the surgery.
• You may experience breast enlargement, tenderness or nipple discharge, immediately inform your doctor.
• You come in contact with any part of this medicine, wash the area of contact immediately with water and soap.
• This medicine may affect semen quality and sperm count. This medicine can also affect fertility in men.
• You must use a physical contraceptive barrier like a condom and make sure your partner doesn't conceive when you are on this medicine.

• Veltam Plus Tablet should be taken as directed by your doctor.
• Swallow it whole with a glass of water. Do not cut, break or chew the medicine.
• It should be taken with or after having your meal.
• It would be best if you took it at a fixed time for optimal results.
• You should not consume it more than that prescribed by your doctor.

• Store below 30°C in the original container.
• Keep it out of reach of children.
• This medicine is absorbed through the skin if anyone comes in contact with this medicine by mistake, the contact area should be washed immediately with soap and water.

• Veltam Plus tablet is used for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). It is a common condition in older men where there is an enlargement of the prostate gland.
• This medicine should not be used to treat any condition other than the one specified by a doctor.
• Take this medicine exactly as directed, in the recommended dose and duration. Do not take more than the prescribed dose.
• Also, inform your doctor about all other medications you take, your complete medical history, and any dietary supplements you are taking.
• Veltam Plus is not suitable for children under 18 years old and is not intended for treating prostate cancer.
• If you are scheduled for eye surgery for glaucoma or cataracts, please inform your eye doctor that you are taking Veltam Plus.
• If you experience dizziness or drowsiness after taking this medication, avoid driving, operating heavy machinery, or performing tasks that require alertness.

How Does It Work?

• Tamsulosin helps in relaxing the prostate and bladder muscles, whereas dutasteride interferes with the formation of the hormone responsible for the enlarged prostate gland.
• This combination has complementary mechanisms of action which improve the symptoms like the urinary flow and urinary retention-related discomfort and also the need for surgery to remove the enlarged prostate gland.

Interactions with other medicines

• Veltam Plus Tablet may interact with other medicines, discuss with your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbal preparations you are taking. Also, you should inform your doctor if you have a planned surgery or vaccination scheduled.
• Your blood pressure can decrease if you are taking blood pressure-lowering medicines, you are on anaesthesia or taking sildenafil, prazosin along with a Veltam Plus Tablet.
• Concomitant use of Veltam Plus Tablet along with Ketoconazole, Paroxetine, Verapamil, Diltiazem should be avoided as there can be increased chances of side effects.
• Long-term use of this Tablet along with Ritonavir, Indinavir, Nefazodone, Itraconazole, Ketoconazole should be avoided.
• Other medicines like Cimetidine, Diclofenac, Warfarin should not be used if you are taking Veltam Plus Tablet.

Interactions with food items

• You should avoid having soy & peanut while on treatment with the Veltam Plus Tablet.
• Your doctor may recommend you take this medicine after having your food to avoid any stomach discomfort.
