How does this medicine work?

Silymarin may help stabilise liver-cell membranes and limit oxidative stress. Ferrous sulphate supplies iron for haemoglobin formation, and vitamin C helps the body absorb iron. Thiamine, pyridoxine, calcium pantothenate, vitamin E, zinc sulphate, choline, L-glutamic acid, L-ornithine, myo-inositol and L-carnitine provide nutrients used in normal cell and energy functions. Together, these ingredients address nutritional needs, while the liver-support role comes mainly from silymarin.

Interactions

Interactions with other medicines

Some medicines can affect the way Urdohep SL capsule works. Tell your doctor about all the medicines, vitamins and supplements you take. In particular, iron can reduce the absorption of thyroid medicines, some antibiotics and medicines used for bone health, while antacids and acid-reducing medicines can lower iron absorption. Ask your doctor or pharmacist how to separate these products safely.

Interactions with food items

Tea, coffee, calcium-rich foods and calcium supplements may reduce iron absorption when used at the same time as Urdohep SL capsule. Ask your pharmacist how to space them.
