Mode of Action of Tussprox D Syp

How Does It Work?

Ambroxol, a mucolytic, loosens the phlegm, while guaifenesin and terbutaline relieve chest congestion by thinning the mucus in air passages, making it easier to expel out the mucus.

Directions for Use of Tussprox D Syp

  • Take this medication as per the doctor's prescription with the help of a measuring cup
  • Do not exceed the number of the prescribed dose
  • Shake well before use

Interactions with other medicines

  • Concomitant use of Tussprox D Syp with beta-blockers could lead to troubled breathing
  • Diuretics like furosemide may affect heart rate and decrease the amount of potassium in the body.
  • Antidepressants, when taken with Tussprox D Syp, can worsen the side effects
  • Halogenates anaesthesia should be avoided as it increases the risk of cardiac arrhythmias
