TryBlue ophthalmic solution is used by eye surgeons to temporarily stain the front layer of the natural lens during cataract surgery. It contains sodium chloride and potassium phosphate in a sterile ophthalmic formulation, while the ophthalmic staining component provides colour contrast for the operation. The staining makes the lens capsule easier for the surgeon to see and handle during the procedure. TryBlue solution is placed inside the eye only by a trained ophthalmic surgeon and is intended for one procedure, not long-term eye care.
