Mode of Action

How Does It Work?

Tranquil Tablet consists of alprazolam as the main ingredient. Alprazolam comes under the category of benzodiazepines. Alprazolam has a distinctive feature: it responds fast to anxiety symptoms. It calms the nerve cells by causing a soothing effect in the central nervous system, which then relaxes the increased heartbeats. Benzodiazepines work in the hypothalamus region of the brain. There are two receptors, Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and Benzodiazepine receptors, present in this area. These receptors interact with each other and cause a decrease in ARAS activity. ARAS- ascending reticular activating system is a combination of nuclei (cells) in the brain that controls the sleep and wake cycle and transitions in the body. When alprazolam binds to the GABA- subtype A receptors, the exaggerated response messages of the increased heart rate, fast breathing, and sweating to the body from the brain is decreased. Thereby, making a person feel more calm, relaxed and better.
