Medical Description
Tazomax solution for injection is a combination antibiotic used to treat susceptible bacterial infections of the lungs, ears, sinuses, throat, urinary tract, skin, wounds, mouth, bones, or joints. It contains piperacillin and tazobactam. Piperacillin stops bacteria from building the protective wall they need, while tazobactam blocks enzymes that can break down piperacillin, helping it work against more bacteria. Tazomax injection is given by a doctor or nurse in a hospital or clinic, not self-administered. The healthcare team selects it when an injectable antibiotic is needed for a suspected or confirmed bacterial infection.
