• If you are allergic to dasatinib or any other ingredient in this medicine, as a serious allergic reaction may occur
• If your doctor has advised against its use because of a medical condition or other safety concern.
• Pregnancy and breastfeeding require discussion with your doctor before treatment.

• Low blood cell counts, which may cause infections, bruising or bleeding, tiredness, and breathlessness. Regular blood tests are required.
• Fluid build-up, which may cause swelling of the face or limbs or fluid around the lungs or heart.
• Diarrhoea
• Headache
• Muscle and joint pain
• Skin rash
• Nausea
• Tiredness and weakness
• Shortness of breath
• Bleeding from different parts of the body.

• Vomiting and constipation
• Fever and chills
• Cough and hair loss
• Dry skin and itching
• Changes in taste
• Dizziness and abdominal pain
• Raised liver enzyme levels in blood tests
• Low potassium, low calcium, and low phosphate levels in blood tests

• Severe or unusual bleeding, including bleeding in the brain or stomach/intestines, especially when platelet counts are very low.
• Severe fluid build-up around the lungs, which can cause significant shortness of breath.
• Serious heart problems, including heart failure, reduced heart function, or heart attack.
• Changes in the heart's rhythm, which can sometimes cause dangerous irregular heartbeats.
• High blood pressure in the blood vessels of the lungs (pulmonary hypertension).
• Abnormal heart rhythm or blood clots in the veins or lungs.
• Tumour lysis syndrome, a serious condition that can occur when many leukaemia cells break down rapidly.

Other General Warnings

• You develop new or worsening shortness of breath, a persistent dry cough, unexpected weight gain, or swelling of the ankles and legs.
• You notice unusual bleeding, including coughing up blood, dark or bright red stools, blood in the urine, unusual bruising, or a severe headache.
• You develop fever, chills, or any signs of infection.
• You develop chest pain, a fast or irregular heartbeat, dizziness, or feel faint.
• You have low potassium or magnesium levels.
• You take or plan to take stomach acid-reducing medicines such as proton pump inhibitors or H2-blockers.
• You are taking blood thinners, aspirin, or anti-inflammatory medicines.
• You have existing liver disease.
• You are planning to have children in the future, as Sprycel tablet may affect fertility.

• Sprycel tablet should be taken as directed by your doctor.
• Swallow it whole with a glass of water.
• It should be taken with or after a meal to reduce its side effects.
• It is best to take it at a fixed time for optimal results, and you should not consume it more than prescribed by your doctor.

• Store Sprycel tablet according to the product label instructions.
• Do not freeze. Keep the medicine out of reach of children and pets.
• Pregnant women should not handle broken or crushed tablets

• Take Sprycel tablet at the same time every day; it can be taken with or without food
• Swallow the tablets whole; never break, cut, or crush them; if a tablet breaks accidentally, wear chemotherapy-safe gloves when handling it
• Avoid grapefruit juice throughout treatment
• Tell your doctor immediately if you develop new or worsening shortness of breath, a dry or persistent cough, or unexpected weight gain,
• Contact your doctor immediately if you notice unusual bleeding, prolonged bruising, bright red or dark tar-like stools, or a sudden, severe headache
• Have your blood counts checked regularly,
• Inform all your doctors, dentists, and emergency care providers that you are taking Sprycel tablet, as it affects blood counts, interacts with many medicines, and increases bleeding risk

Missed a Dose

• If you miss a dose of Sprycel tablet, skip the missed dose and take your next dose at the regularly scheduled time.
• Do not take double the dose to make up for a missed one. If you are unsure what to do, contact your doctor or pharmacist for advice.

Overdose

Interactions with other medicines

• Ketoconazole, itraconazole, clarithromycin, ritonavir, atazanavir, and erythromycin may increase the amount of Sprycel tablet in your blood and increase the risk of side effects. Your doctor may adjust your treatment if you cannot avoid these medicines.
• Rifampicin, carbamazepine, phenytoin, phenobarbital, dexamethasone, and St. John’s wort may reduce the amount of Sprycel tablet in your blood and make it less effective.
• Antacids can affect the absorption of Sprycel tablet. Ask your doctor or pharmacist how to use them safely.
• Omeprazole, pantoprazole, famotidine, and similar medicines for acidity may reduce the absorption of Sprycel tablet. Talk to your doctor before using them.
• Sprycel tablet may increase the effects of some medicines, including cyclosporine, tacrolimus, sirolimus, fentanyl, pimozide, and ergot medicines. Your doctor may need to monitor you closely.
• Blood thinners, aspirin, and anti-inflammatory medicines (NSAIDs) may increase the risk of bleeding when taken with Sprycel tablet.
• Always tell your doctor about all medicines, vitamins, supplements, and herbal products you take.

Interactions with food items

• Sprycel tablet can be taken with or without food, as eating does not significantly affect how much medicine your body absorbs
• Avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice throughout treatment, as these can raise Sprycel tablet blood levels and increase the risk of side effects
• Eating small, light, and frequent meals can help manage diarrhoea, nausea, and vomiting, which are common side effects
