Sove It 12.5mg Tablet is used in the treatment of sleep problems such as difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep and walking in sleep in the middle of the night. The active ingredient of Sove It is zolpidem. Sove It Tablets should be taken as prescribed by your doctor. The duration and dose of taking Sove It Tablet vary depending on the patient’s condition and age. Side effects of Sove It Tablet include diarrhoea, headache, nausea (feeling sick), vomiting, stomach pain, sleepiness, nightmares, weakness, and depression. It is advised to consult your doctor before starting treatment with Sove It Tablet and get complete information on its potential side effects and benefits. Sove It Tablets may also interact negatively and produce life-threatening side effects when taken with certain medications such as those used in the treatment of anxiety, depression, pain, sleeplessness and allergy. Sove It Tablet must not be taken during pregnancy as it is known to cause problems in the newborn such as cleft lip and palate, heart problems, and symptoms of withdrawal (sleepiness and breathing problems).

Breast Feeding

Driving

You must not drive for at least 8 hours from the time of taking the Sove It Tablet as it may impair your ability to think and make decisions. You may feel sleepy, dizzy, and confused with problems of blurred vision that impacts your ability to drive.

Other General Warnings

  • You have a history of alcohol addiction or abuse.
  • You conceive during the course of Sove It Tablet or are planning a pregnancy.
  • You have taken zolpidem or any sleep-inducing medicines for over four weeks.

Directions for Use

  • Sove It Tablet must be taken as per the doctor’s prescription.
  • Sove It Tablets must be taken without food for maximum benefits.
  • Make sure to swallow the Sove It Tablet as a whole. Do not chew, crush, or break it.
  • Sove It Tablets must be taken at the same time as per prescription.
  • Do not change the dose or frequency of taking a Sove It Tablet without consulting your doctor.
  • Do not stop taking Sove It Tablet on your own, and continue taking it as long as your doctor recommends.

Storage and disposal

Sove It Tablet must be stored in a dry place at room temperature, away from sunlight and the reach of children. The unused/expired tablets must be disposed of as biomedical waste so that it is not accidentally consumed by children or animals.

If you take more Sove It Tablets than you should, consult a doctor or rush to a hospital casualty department immediately. You must take the medicine pack with you for the doctor to know what you have taken. Overdose of Sove It Tablets may cause excessive sleepiness, confusion, and even coma.

Missed a Dose

Sove It Tablet must only be consumed at bedtime. If you forget to take a Sove It Tablet at bedtime, you should avoid taking it at any other time, as it can make you feel sleepy, dizzy, and confused. Do not take a double dose to compensate for the missed tablet, as it may lead to an overdose and can be fatal.

Sove It Tablet belongs to a class of medications generally used in the treatment of symptoms of insomnia (sleeplessness). It contains zolpidem as an active ingredient that slows down brain activity to promote sleep.

Interactions with other medicines

  • Zolpidem(the active ingredient of Sove It Tablet), when taken with the following medicines, may cause impairment of muscular activities, making it difficult for you to coordinate and also increase sleepiness abnormally:
  • Medicines for mental problems (antipsychotics).
  • Medicines for depression such as sertraline.
  • Some medicines for moderate to severe pain (narcotic analgesics).
  • Medicines for epilepsy (anticonvulsants).
  • Medicines used in surgery (anaesthetics).
  • Medicines to calm or reduce anxiety or for sleep problems (hypnotics).
  • Medicines for hay fever, rashes or other allergies that can make you sleepy (chlorphenamine or
  • promethazine).
  • Zolpidem with medicines to manage depression (bupropion, desipramine, fluoxetine, sertraline and venlafaxine) can cause you to see things that are not real (hallucinations).
  • Zolpidem, when taken with strong painkillers and some cough medicines, may increase the risk of sleepiness, breathing difficulties (respiratory depression), and coma.
  • Medicines for the treatment of fungal infections (Ketoconazole) increase the risk of side effects of zolpidem.
  • Antibiotics (Rifampicin), when taken with zolpidem, can make the medicine less effective.

Interactions with food items

  • Sove It Tablet interacts adversely with St. John’s Wort, a herbal medicine used to manage symptoms of mood swings and depression. When taken together, the symptoms of overdose of Ventab Xl Tablet may occur, causing too much sleepiness, weakness, and even coma.

Do not stop taking Sove It Tablets without consulting your doctor, as it may cause your sleep problems to return. You may suffer from withdrawal symptoms such as feeling anxious, headaches, muscular weakness, nightmares, restlessness, seizures, and behavioural changes.
