This is a hypolipidemic medicine that is categorised under the statin group of medicines. The uses of Rozucor 40mg Tab include reducing the levels of bad cholesterol (low density lipoprotein) in the body. The generic name of this medicine is rosuvastatin.

This medicine should not be administered during pregnancy as it can be harmful to foetus. An effective contraceptive should be used by women of child-bearing age while being on the prescription of this medicine.

The safety of this medicine has not been established yet due to the inadequacy of research works. Therefore, it is advised to avoid its use during breastfeeding.

How Does It Work?
Cholesterol is formed by an enzyme HMG-CoA reductase in the body. Rozucor 40mg Tab inhibits the enzyme and lowers the levels of cholesterol and bad cholesterol (LDL levels) in the blood. It increases the good cholesterol (HDL levels).
Directions for Use of Rozucor 40mg Tab
The dosage of Rozucor 40mg Tab should always be taken as prescribed by your physician. Do not alter or stop the dose by yourself. Do not stop taking the medicine before your prescribed duration. The medicine should be taken at the same time daily.
Interactions of Rozucor 40mg Tab
Interactions with other medicines
It can react with certain medications such as lipid-lowering agents (can cause myopathy) and other medicines (lowest possible dose is recommended) such as verapamil, amiodarone, diltiazem, warfarin, cyclosporine, oral contraceptive pills, itraconazole, ketoconazole, erythromycin, clarithromycin, HIV protease inhibitors, ritonavir along with antacids like aluminium hydroxide and fusidic acid.
Interactions with food items
Grapefruit juice or its extracts and derivatives should be taken in very small quantity when you are on the prescription of this medicine.
Other general Interactions
Individuals with liver and kidneys' disorders along with individuals with previous history of muscular pain should avoid this medicine. Pregnant and breastfeeding women are also advised not to use this medicine.
Storage and disposal of Rozucor 40mg Tab
The medicine needs to stored at the room temperature far from sunlight, heat, moisture and the reach of children. Do not use expired products in any case. Discard the products via standard methods suggested by your pharmacist as soon as it gets expired.
