Riscon 1 MG Description

Riscon 1 mg Tablet contains risperidone. Risperidone falls under a group of medicines called antipsychotics. It is used in the treatment of mental conditions such as schizophrenia, mania or bipolar d

isorders. Riscon 1 mg Tablet should always be consumed under a medical doctor’s supervision. Conditions such as diabetes, heart diseases, liver conditions, menstrual issues, pregnancy, breastfeeding should be discussed with the prescribing doctor. Do not stop consuming this medicine abruptly as it can cause withdrawal symptoms such as vomiting, nausea, headaches, diarrhoea, headaches, sleeplessness or may even develop suicidal thoughts. Drink plenty of water with this medicine.

If you have been diagnosed with heart problems

Pregnancy

Can I take Riscon 1 mg Tablet during pregnancy?

No. Some reports have suggested that taking risperidone(active ingredient of Riscon Tablet) during pregnancy might lead to low birth weight in babies. Consult your doctor if you conceive while on treatment with Riscon Tablet. Stopping this treatment may increase the chance of relapse of symptoms. Untreated and undertreated psychiatric disorders may increase the chance of pregnancy complications. Please seek medical advice.

Breast Feeding

Can I take Riscon 1 mg Tablet while breastfeeding?

No. Risperidone present in Riscon 1 mg Tablet passes in breast milk in small quantities. Symptoms like excessive crying, sleepiness, poor feeding, crankiness, or unusual movements are seen in babies who are exposed to this medicine through breast milk. Please seek medical advice before taking Riscon Tablet. Inform the doctor about your breastfeeding status at the time of consultation.

Driving

Can I drive if I have taken Riscon 1 mg Tablet?

No. Riscon 1mg Tablet is a sedative, and can cause dizziness and drowsiness. Consuming it a couple of hours before driving can also alter judgement while driving and can cause accidents.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with Riscon 1 mg Tablet?

No. Consuming alcohol is not recommended during treatment with Riscon 1 mg Tablet due to the increased risk of effects such as sleepiness or drowsiness.

Directions for Use of Riscon 1 MG

Riscon 1 mg Tablet should always be consumed under a medical doctor’s supervision.
Swallow Riscon Tablet as a whole with water. Don't break, crush, or chew it.
For optimal pharmacological effects, take the recommended dose of Riscon Tablet at the same time every day for the prescribed duration.
Do not alter the dosage of Riscon Tablets without consulting with your doctor.
Do not abruptly stop consuming Riscon Tablets as it can cause withdrawal symptoms.
