Rasalect 0.5 MG Description
Rasalect 0.5 tablet is a medication used to treat Parkinson's disease in adults. It works by increasing the levels of dopamine in the brain, a chemical messenger that helps control movement.
Rasalect 0.5 tablets can be taken alone or with other Parkinson's medications. Rasalect 0.5 tablet is not recommended for use in people with severe liver disease, pregnancy or breastfeeding. It should also be used with caution in people with other medical conditions, such as high blood pressure, skin cancer or smoking.
The most common side effects of Rasalect 0.5 tablet are involuntary movements, headache, stomach pain, allergy, fever, feeling generally unwell, neck pain and chest pain. Contact your doctor if any of these side effects worsen.

Interactions with other medicines

- Especially if you are taking medicines to treat bacterial infections (ciprofloxacin) or other medicines used in Parkinson's disease (entacapone).
- Rasalect 0.5 tablets should not be used simultaneously along with other MAO inhibitors like isocarboxazid, selegiline (used in psychiatric illnesses), and pethidine (used to treat pain).
- The concomitant use of this medicine with sympathomimetics like ephedrine or pseudoephedrine (such as those present in nasal and oral decongestants or cold medicinal products) and dextromethorphan (cough suppressant) is not recommended....
- Concomitant use along with fluoxetine or fluvoxamine (used to manage depression and Parkinson's disease) should be avoided.
