Contraindications
- If you are allergic to clarithromycin, esomeprazole, amoxicillin, or any of the ingredients of Pylokit Tablet Combikit.
- If you are allergic to antibiotics that belong to the class known as macrolide antibiotics or beta-lactam antibiotics (cephalosporin, carbapenem or monobactam).
- If you are suffering from a condition of low levels of potassium (hypokalemia).
- If you are suffering from any kind of health condition such as liver or kidney failure.
- If you are taking medicines like blood cholesterol-lowering medicines (statins), antiviral medicine (nelfinavir), astemizole, cisapride, pimozide and terfenadine.
- If you are suffering from rhythmic defects of the heart (QT prolongation, ventricular cardiac arrhythmia).

- You have a history of known allergy to this medicine, any class of antibiotics or any other medicine.
- You have any pre-existing medical condition such as muscle weakness, heart disorder, kidney or liver disorder, etc.
- You experience redness of the skin followed by eruptions, swelling, irresistible itching or any kind of allergic reaction.
- You have a vitamin B12 deficiency as this medicine reduces the absorption of vitamin B12 when used for the long term, inform the doctor.
- You are suffering from severe skin infections (acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis, infectious mononucleosis).
- You are taking any other medicines which are known to cause serious disturbances in heart rhythm.
- You have/had a history of antibiotic-related diarrhoea (Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhoea).
- You are experiencing signs and symptoms of liver disease, such as loss of appetite, jaundice, dark urine, itchy skin or a tender stomach.
- You have a difficulty in passing urine.
Directions for Use
- Take Pylokit Tablet Combikit as directed by your doctor.
- Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water.
- Do not cut, break or chew the medicine.
- Do not take more than the dose prescribed.

How Does It Work?
- Pylokit Tablet Combikit contains clarithromycin, esomeprazole and amoxicillin.
- Clarithromycin and amoxicillin are antibiotics that work against bacterial infection. Clarithromycin, an antibiotic that works by interfering with the synthesis of important bacterial proteins while amoxicillin, a penicillin-type antibiotic prevents bacterial growth by damaging the bacterial cell wall.
- Esomeprazole relieves heartburn, acidity and indigestion by reducing the amount of acid produced in the stomach.
Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Some medicines may affect the way Pylokit Tablet Combikit works or this medicine itself reduces the effectiveness of other medicines if taken at the same time.
- Inform the doctor about the medicines, supplements or herbals you are taking or might take to avoid possible interaction.
- In particular, if you are already taking medicines for bacterial and fungal infections like clarithromycin and ketoconazole, anti-HIV medicines like atazanavir, saquinavir, anti-gout medicines like probenecid, anti-tuberculosis medicines like rifampicin, etc.
- Other medicines that should be used with caution are oral contraceptives, anti-cancer medicines (like methotrexate), anti-hypertensive medicines, medicines for heart and brain-related disorders, anti-epileptic medicines, etc.
- Frequent monitoring of blood clotting parameters is required if you are taking blood thinners like warfarin. There is a risk of bleeding.
