Prostagard D 8mg/0.5mg Strip Of 10 Capsules
Description
Prostagard D Capsule is a prescription medicine used in the treatment of an enlarged prostate gland, a condition known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men. It is a fixed-dose combination of silodosin and dutasteride. Silodosin works by relaxing the muscles in the bladder neck and prostate, thereby improving urine flow and reducing discomfort caused by the enlarged prostate. Dutasteride acts by shrinking the prostate gland through inhibition of the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone responsible for prostate growth.
Together, these two medicines help relieve symptoms such as difficulty in passing urine, frequent urination, night time urination (nocturia), and incomplete bladder emptying. Prostagard D is not intended for the treatment or prevention of prostate cancer. It should be taken strictly as advised by the doctor, for the prescribed duration. Inform your physician about your medical history, especially if you have liver or kidney problems, heart disease, or are taking other medicines, to avoid interactions.
