Medical Description
Propysalic NF6 ointment is used in the treatment of skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema and other dry, scaly conditions of the skin. It is a combination medicine containing clobetasol and salicylic acid. Clobetasol is a steroid and salicylic acid is an antiseptic. Do not use it for any other skin conditions without consulting your doctor. Propysalic NF6 ointment is meant only for external application and should be applied exactly as recommended by your doctor.

Contraindications
- If you are allergic to clobetasol, salicylic acid or other ingredients of Propysalic NF6 ointment.
- If you have a fungal or bacterial infection of the skin
- If you have chickenpox, herpes infection or any viral infection of the skin
- If you have acne or a skin condition affecting the face (rosacea)
- If you have a skin infection around your mouth
- If you have itchy skin without any scaling of the skin
- If you have itching around your private parts
- If you are using this medicine to treat skin ulcers

- You have a history of allergic reactions to any other topical medicine or steroids
- You are experiencing irritation, dryness, sensitivity on the skin after applying this ointment, consult your doctor immediately
- You experience sudden weight gain, purple stretch marks on arms, breast or stomach, thinning of the skin (Cushing's syndrome)
- Do not smoke or go near smoke or heat after applying this ointment
- Do not use this ointment on open wounds or on a large surface area
- Do not apply it near your eyes, eyelids, nose or mucous membranes
Directions for Use
- Propysalic NF6 ointment should be used as directed by the doctor and follow all the instructions.
- This medicine is meant for external use only.
- Wash your hands before and after using this ointment unless your hands are the area to be treated.
- Apply it on the healthy skin surface, free from cuts and wounds.
- Apply a thin layer and rub gently to cover the affected area, for days and times advised by your doctor.
- In case your eyes come in contact with this medicine rinse your eyes with clean water immediately.

- Store Propysalic NF6 ointment in the original container in a clean and dry place, protected from moisture, sunlight and heat.
- Keep the medicine away from children and pets.

How Does It Work?
- Clobetasol works by blocking the production of certain chemical substances in the body that cause itching, swelling and redness.
- Salicylic acid works by removing and shedding dead cells from the top layer of skin by increasing skin moisture resulting in a decrease in scaling and dryness.
Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Since Propysalic NF6 ointment is to be used externally on the skin it is less likely to interact with other medicines. However, you should always consult your doctor if you are taking other medicines for treating other health conditions.
- Medicines like ritonavir (used in HIV infection) and itraconazole (used to treat fungal infections) should be used with caution along with clobetasol+salicylic acid.
