Perifer 2.5mg tablet is a diuretic (water tablet) used to treat excessive blood pressure (high blood pressure). It also treats oedema (fluid overload) caused by heart, liver, kidney, or lung disorder
s by reducing excess fluid levels in the body. Perifer 2.5mg tablet helps you eliminate extra water from your body through urine. It can be taken on its own or in conjunction with other medications. You must take this medication in the dose and for the length of time prescribed by your doctor, and you must never stop using it suddenly without consulting your doctor. Although most individuals with high blood pressure do not feel unwell, your condition may worsen if you stop taking Perifer 2.5mg. Perifer 2.5mg is simply one component of a comprehensive treatment plan that includes a balanced diet, regular exercise, smoking cessation, alcohol moderation, and weight loss. Headache, nausea, and dizziness are common side effects of Perifer 2.5mg. If these side effects are bothering you, talk to your cardiologist. Interactions with other medicines
- Perifer 2.5mg tablet should not be taken with lithium (antidepressant medications) because of the possibility of increased lithium levels in the blood.
- Interaction of amlodipine and Perifer 2.5mg tablet can cause a sudden drop in blood pressure, raising your risk of a heart attack.
- When used with Aceclofenac, the therapeutic efficacy of Perifer 2.5mg tablet is reduced.
- Most antiarrhythmic medications of class IIIa can interact with Perifer 2.5mg tablet and prevent the functioning of the antiarrhythmic medicines.
Interactions with food items
- Grapefruit juice may interact with Perifer 2.5mg tablets, resulting in a rise in blood levels of Perifer 2.5mg tablets. Maintain a low-salt, low-fat diet when on Perifer 2.5mg tablets.
