Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: Is it safe to take a Perifer 2.5mg tablet during sickness?

A: If you are unwell, have a temperature with sweating, vomiting, or have diarrhoea, you should see a doctor. To deal with this, you will be advised to take a break from the Perifer 2.5mg tablet for a couple of days and then resume it once you feel better. The reason for this is electrolyte imbalance. This imbalance is exacerbated by taking Perifer 2.5mg tablet. As a result, it should be withheld for at least two days.

Q: Does Perifer 2.5mg tablet induce sleep?

A: No. Perifer 2.5mg tablet does not cause sleepiness. However, if you lose too many salts or suffer from electrolyte imbalance, you feel drowsy. Dry mouth, thirst, weakness, weariness, lethargy, restlessness, muscle soreness or cramps are signs of electrolyte imbalance. Decreased urine production, higher heart rate, and lower blood pressure can all be symptoms of electrolyte imbalance.

Q: Is Perifer 2.5mg tablet causing you to urinate more frequently?

A: In some patients, taking Perifer 2.5mg tablet causes them to urinate more frequently. Perifer 2.5mg tablet is a diuretic that belongs to the thiazide class of medications. These medications cause your kidneys to excrete excess fluid from your body. This also helps lower blood pressure by increasing the expulsion of salts (sodium and potassium) and water from your body.
