Pegovag oral powder is a bowel-cleansing medicine used to relieve constipation and, when prescribed, clear the colon before a procedure. It contains polyethylene glycol with sodium chloride, potassium chloride, sodium bicarbonate and anhydrous sodium sulphate, a combination of an osmotic ingredient and body salts. Polyethylene glycol holds water in the bowel to soften stool and increase bowel contents, while the salts help limit changes in body fluid balance during cleansing.
