Ornida suspension is an oral prescription medicine used to treat selected bacterial and parasitic infections affecting the intestine, reproductive system, brain, skin and vagina. It contains ornidazole, an anti-infective medicine that acts against susceptible bacteria and parasites, rather than viruses that cause most colds and flu. Ornidazole damages the genetic material these microorganisms need to survive and multiply, helping the infection clear. Ornida suspension is taken by mouth after shaking the bottle, with or without food as advised, and should be used only for the infection diagnosed by a doctor.
