Onglyza 2.5mg Strip Of 14 Tablets
Description
Onglyza tablet is an oral anti-diabetic medicine that contains saxagliptin as its active ingredient. It belongs to a group of medicines called dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors, which are used to help manage blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes. It is usually prescribed when diet, exercise, or another anti-diabetic tablet alone is not enough to control your blood sugar.
Onglyza tablet is used for improving blood sugar control in adults aged 18 years and above who have type 2 diabetes. Your doctor may prescribe it alone or along with other diabetes medicines such as insulin, metformin, sulphonylureas, or thiazolidinediones. It works best when combined with a healthy diet and regular physical activity.
Saxagliptin in Onglyza tablet helps your body regulate blood sugar levels more effectively. It increases the levels of natural hormones in your body that help release insulin after meals and reduce the amount of sugar produced by the liver. This helps keep your blood sugar within a healthy range throughout the day.
You should take Onglyza tablet exactly as advised by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time each day. Common side effects may include headache, stomach pain, diarrhoea, dizziness, or upper respiratory infections. If you notice severe abdominal pain, signs of allergy, or very low blood sugar, seek medical help immediately.
