Contraindications
- If you are allergic to any component of Ocupol DX Sterile Eye/Ear drops.
- If you have varicella, herpes, HIV, tuberculosis or any other viral or fungal infection of the eye.

- You do not find any improvement in your condition after using Ocupol DX Sterile Eye/Ear drops for 3-4 days.
- You have a disorder of the liver or kidney.

- You should consult your doctor and take oral antibiotics if needed for severe infections.
Directions for Use
- Use Ocupol DX Sterile Eye/Ear drops as instructed by your doctor.
- Follow the directions carefully & do not miss any dose.
- Wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying.
- Wipe any excess medicine from your face with the help of a tissue.
- Use the exact amount of drops as prescribed.
- Close your eyes for 2-3 minutes and do not blink or squeeze.

How Does It Work?
- Ocupol DX Sterile Eye/Ear drops are a combination of two antibiotics (Polymyxin B and Chloramphenicol) and one steroid medicine (Dexamethasone).
- Antibiotics kill the bacteria and control the infection, while the steroid component of Ocupol DX Sterile Eye/Ear drops reduces the redness, pain, swelling and discomfort caused due to the infection.
Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Since Ocupol DX Sterile Eye/Ear drops is to be used externally, it is less likely to interact with other medicines. However, consult your doctor if you are taking other medicines for treating other health conditions.
- Especially if you are already using any other eye or ear drops.
- Concomitant use of Ocupol DX Sterile Eye/Ear drops with atropine or phosphate-containing eye medicines should be done with caution.
- Medicines such as Phenytoin, Phenobarbitone, Ephedrine and Rifampicin may reduce the effect of Ocupol DX Drops.
- Ocupol DX Sterile Eye/Ear drops can reduce the action of salicylate medicines.
