Nax-B gel is a topical antibiotic used to treat acne. This gel contains clindamycin and benzyl peroxide as its active ingredient. It works by stopping the growth of acne-causing bacteria, by inhibiti
ng their growth and function. This gel is for external application only and must be applied exactly as recommended by the doctor. Wash your hands before and after applying the gel. Avoid contact with the eye.

Breast Feeding

Can I use Nax-B gel while breastfeeding?
A:
Nax-B gel needs to be applied to the skin and it is unlikely to pass into the breastmilk. It should not be applied to the breast or areas near the breast of breastfeeding mothers as there are chances of ingestion of the gel by a breastfed infant. Avoid using on areas of skin or for a prolonged period.

A:
There is no direct interaction between alcohol and Nax-B gel.
Other General Warnings
Talk to your doctor if
- You are already using products to treat acne.
- You may have a genetic tendency to develop allergic diseases like rhinitis, asthma, etc., as caution is advised for such patients.
- You have a history of antibiotic-associated diarrhoea, inflammation of the digestive tract, etc.
- You may experience burning or irritation on the skin. The doctor may suggest discontinuing the treatment.
- Avoid applying it on the eyes, mouth, lips and cuts or wounds on the skin, as caution should be exercised while applying medication around these areas.
- Avoid contact with hair, fabrics and furniture as it may bleach the substance.
- Avoid exposure to direct sunlight, wear protective clothes and apply sunscreen before stepping out.
Mode of Action of Nax B Tube Of 15gm Gel
How Does It Work?
- Clindamycin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis, which is required by bacteria to grow and function. It inhibits the growth of bacteria and prevents the infection from spreading.
- Benzyl peroxide acts by removing the dead skin cell and unclogging the pores, as well as preventing the growth of infection-causing bacteria.
Directions for Use of Nax B Tube Of 15gm Gel
- Apply a thin layer of the medicine.
- Do not use it for a longer time than the doctor suggested.
- Do not apply the medicine to windburned or sunburned skin or on open wounds.
- Do not use the medicine in or around the eyes, lips or inside of the nose.
- Rub it gently and well.
- Wash your hands to remove medicine that may remain on them.

- Nax-B gel is meant for local application on the skin and thus is less likely to interact with other medicines taken orally. It may interact with other topically applied medicines. Inform the doctor if you are already on other topical medicines....

Storage and disposal of Nax B Tube Of 15gm Gel
- Store Nax-B gel in a refrigerator at 2-8°C.

Overdose

Missed a Dose
If you missed applying the gel, apply it as soon as you remember. If it's time for the next application, skip the missed application and continue with the regular schedule. Avoid overapplying the medicine for the missed application....
