Montina-L Syrup

• If you are allergic to montelukast, cetirizine, levocetirizine, or any of the ingredients of Montina-L syrup.
• If you have kidney problems or are undergoing dialysis.
• If you are unable to digest lactose and glucose (galactose intolerance).
• In children of age 6-11 years with existing kidney problems.

• Headache
• Stomach pain
• Dry mouth
• Sleepiness
• Rash

Other General Warnings

• You are taking medicines for allergies (corticosteroids) like prednisone and prednisolone.
• You are already taking painkillers like aspirin as they can increase the risk of asthma.
• You experience a rash or difficulty in breathing.
• You are suffering from a psychiatric illness.
• You experience anxiety, aggression, lack of sleep, and suicidal thoughts.
• You are suffering from a genetic disorder called phenylketonuria.
• You are not able to empty the bladder completely..

• Take Montina-L syrup as instructed by your doctor.
• Do not consume this medicine directly from the bottle.
• Use a measuring cup or spoon for the exact quantity.
• Shake it well before use.
• Do not take more than the prescribed dose.

• Store Montina-L syrup below 30°C.
• Keep it away from the reach of children and pets.

• Montina-L syrup is an anti-allergic medicine. It is used for the management of symptoms of allergic rhinitis.
• This medicine may cause dizziness or drowsiness in some individuals. Hence, if you experience any dizziness, then driving or operating heavy materials should be avoided.
• This medicine can cause anxiety, aggression, lack of sleep and suicidal thoughts. In case you experience any of these, immediately inform your doctor.
• Before starting Montina-L syrup, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning on becoming pregnant or breastfeeding.
• Also, inform your doctor about all other medicines that you take and your complete medical history.

How Does It Work?

• Montina-L syrup is a combination of montelukast and levocetirizine as active substances.
• Montelukast blocks certain natural substances called leukotrienes which may cause allergies. It reduces swelling, relaxes airways, and helps to make breathing easier.
• Levocetirizine blocks histamine, a natural substance, which is produced by the body during allergic reactions.

Interactions with other medicines

• Some medicines can affect the way Montina-L syrup works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
• Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
• Medicines like rifampicin (used to treat tuberculosis), phenytoin (used to treat fits or epilepsy), and phenobarbital (used to treat anxiety or sleeplessness; also called CNS depressants) should be used with caution along with Montina-L syrup.
