Medical Description
Mirator tablet is a medication used to treat the signs and symptoms of idiopathic Parkinson's disease. Its active ingredient is pramipexole, which works by stimulating the dopamine receptors in the brain. This action helps to trigger nerve impulses that control body movements, thereby alleviating the symptoms of the disease. Mirator tablet is not suitable for use in children and adolescents.
The medication should be taken exactly as prescribed by a doctor, in the specified doses and for the specified duration. It can be taken with or without food. Do not cut, break, or chew the tablet; instead, swallow it whole with a glass of water. For optimal results, it is recommended to take the medicine at the same time each day.
Before starting treatment with Mirator tablet, you must inform your doctor about your complete medical and surgical history. This includes any existing heart, liver, or kidney diseases. It is also crucial to inform the doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to have a baby, as the safety of the medicine in these situations is limited, and it can reduce breast milk production.
Disclose all other medications you are currently taking, including supplements and herbal products, as Mirator tablet may interact with them. It is important to avoid alcohol consumption while on this medication. Potential side effects include dizziness, sleepiness, hallucinations, and abnormal movements. If these occur, contact your doctor immediately.
