How Does It Work?
Metoprolol is a beta-blocker that reduces the heart rate, while telmisartan is in a class of medications called angiotensin II receptor antagonists. It works by relaxing the blood vessels and lowering the blood pressure. In addition, chlorthalidone increases the production of urine and certain electrolytes from the body that help keep the blood pressure in control....

Met Xl Tab should be taken as directed by the physician
Do not break the tablet; instead, swallow it whole with a glass of water
Do not take this medication except under medical supervision
Interactions of Met Xl 3d 50/40/12.5mg Strip Of 10 Tablets
Interactions with other medicines
- Anaesthetic medicines, when taken with antihypertensive may attenuate reflex tachycardia and increase the risk of hypotension
- Concomitant administration of tricyclic antidepressants, barbiturates and phenothiazines and other hypertensive agents may increase the blood pressure-lowering effect.
- The effects of metoprolol and other hypertensives may cause additive effects and enhance the hypertensive effect.
- NSAIDs may reduce the antihypertensive effects of beta-blockers by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis.
- Digitalis glycoside with beta-blockers may increase the auriculo-ventricular conduction time
- Prostaglandin synthetase inhibiting medicines may decrease the hypotensive effects of beta-blockers
- Co-administration of corticosteroids may reduce the antihypertensive effect
- Concurrent use of xanthines, especially aminophylline, may result in a mutual inhibition of therapeutic effects.

- Store at room temperature away from light and moisture

- Properly discard the tablets if expired or no longer used

Overdose
