Interactions of Met Xl 3d 50/40/12.5mg Strip Of 10 Tablets

Interactions with other medicines

Anaesthetic medicines, when taken with antihypertensive may attenuate reflex tachycardia and increase the risk of hypotension
Concomitant administration of tricyclic antidepressants, barbiturates and phenothiazines and other hypertensive agents may increase the blood pressure-lowering effect.
The effects of metoprolol and other hypertensives may cause additive effects and enhance the hypertensive effect.
NSAIDs may reduce the antihypertensive effects of beta-blockers by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis.
Digitalis glycoside with beta-blockers may increase the auriculo-ventricular conduction time
Prostaglandin synthetase inhibiting medicines may decrease the hypotensive effects of beta-blockers
Co-administration of corticosteroids may reduce the antihypertensive effect
Concurrent use of xanthines, especially aminophylline, may result in a mutual inhibition of therapeutic effects.
