Luramax 40 Strip Of 10 Tablets
Description
Luramax is a prescription medication. It belongs to a class of drugs called antipsychotics. The drug component is called Lurasidone. It is used in the treatment of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
In bipolar disorder, it is used in addition to lithium as a mood stabiliser. In disorders such as schizophrenia, a chemical messenger (neurotransmitter) in the brain called dopamine is indicated. Increased dopamine activity has been linked with the symptoms of schizophrenia, such as delusions, hallucinations, and paranoia. Lurasidone works by blocking this dopamine pathway, thereby decreasing the adverse effects of schizophrenia. In addition, it also acts on other neurotransmitters like serotonin, which causes its anti-depressant effects and regulates dopamine pathways. The medication should be taken as recommended by your treating physician. It is generally advisable to take the tablet at the same time every day as this ensures the best action of the medication, decreasing the chances of relapse of symptoms significantly. It is also recommended to complete the entire course of the medication as prescribed by the treating physician. Abruptly stopping this drug can cause worsening of symptoms.
