Ingredients and Benefits
- Vitamin B9 or Folic acid: It is the vitamin that plays a vital role in DNA and amino acid synthesis. It is used for cell division and the development of blood cells. It is essential for the development of the baby's brain and spinal cord, and a deficiency during pregnancy can lead to birth defects.
- Iron: The mineral that the body needs. It is important for hemoglobin (Hb) formation (present in red blood cells). Hemoglobin carries oxygen from the lungs to the rest of the body. It is also part of myoglobin, which supplies oxygen to muscles. Iron plays an important role in immunity, hormone production, and regulating body temperature.
- Zinc: It is used for immune function, wound healing, blood clotting, thyroid function, proper vision, and the healthy growth and development during childhood, adolescence, and pregnancy. Zinc is needed for insulin production in the body. A deficiency during pregnancy can lead to preterm delivery, low birth weight, and birth defects. Zinc is also essential for a proper sense of taste and smell.
