Levomac Oz Strip Of 10 Tablets

• If you are allergic to levofloxacin, ornidazole or any other ingredients of the Levomac Oz Tablet.
• If you are allergic to fluoroquinolone or Nitroimidazole class of medicines.
• If you have a history of fits (epilepsy).
• If you have problems related to the tendon (tissue connecting muscles to bones) like inflammation and swelling of the tendons (tendonitis) due to treatment with any ‘quinolone antibiotic’ like ciprofloxacin, norfloxacin, etc.
• If you are below the age of 18.
• If you are pregnant, planning to have a baby or are breastfeeding.

• Headache
• Dizziness
• Diarrhoea
• Vomiting
• Nausea
• Sleep problems

Other General Warnings

• You feel any type of strain or pain on tendons (tendinitis) and joints, immediately stop this medicine, do not move the joint much and inform your doctor immediately.
• You experience continuous or bloody diarrhoea.
• You have diabetes. Close glucose monitoring is required.
• You had a stroke or any brain injury.
• You have myasthenia gravis (muscle weakness).
• You experience suicidal thoughts, immediately inform your doctor.
• You experience fits or have a history of fits.
• You feel restlessness, lightheadedness, confusion or hallucinations.
• You have developed any allergic reactions after taking this medicine.
• You have any problems with your liver or kidney.
• You have any type of heart problems like heart attack, very slow heart rate and salt imbalance.
• You have glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency (an inherited disorder that affects red blood cells).
• Your age is 60 years or above.

• Store the Levomac Oz Tablets below 30°C.
• Protect it from moisture and sunlight.
• Keep this medicine out of the reach of children and pet.

How Does It Work?

• Levomac Oz Tablet works by the combined action of both its components- levofloxacin and ornidazole.
• Levofloxacin works by inhibiting the multiplication of the bacteria thereby stopping the growth.
• Ornidazole works by stopping the growth of the bacteria or parasites causing the infection.

Interactions with other medicines

• Some medicines can affect the way the Levomac Oz Tablet works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
• Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
• Especially, if you are taking medicines to treat your psychiatric illnesses, diabetes, gout, fits or epilepsy.
• Blood sugar can drop if you are on insulin or Glibenclamide. Careful monitoring of blood glucose is needed.
• Increased chances of bleeding if taken along with blood thinners like warfarin.
• Medicines used to treat pain and inflammation (NSAID's) can increase the chance of fits.
• Medicines used to treat acidity (antacids) like Sucralfate, antacids containing calcium and magnesium should not be taken two hours before or after the Levomac Oz Tablet.
