Description

Levomac Oz Tablet is an antibiotic medicine. Levomac Oz Tablet is used for the treatment of diarrhoea caused by mixed organisms in adults. It is a combination medicine containing levofloxacin and orn

idazole as its active ingredients. It works by inhibiting the growth of infection-causing organisms, thus prevents the spread of infection. Take it in the prescribed dose and for the prescribed duration and never miss or skip a dose. Do not stop taking this medicine, always complete the entire course of treatment with antibiotic medicine. Incomplete treatment may result in treatment failure and increase the risk of re-infection. You can take this medicine with or without food. Levomac Oz Tablet should not be taken by children below 18 years of age. Inform your doctor if you have any medical conditions and are on any other medications.

  • You experience continuous or bloody diarrhoea.
  • You have diabetes. Close glucose monitoring is required.
  • You had a stroke or any brain injury.
  • You have myasthenia gravis (muscle weakness).
  • You experience suicidal thoughts, immediately inform your doctor.
  • You experience fits or have a history of fits.
  • You feel restlessness, lightheadedness, confusion or hallucinations.
  • You have developed any allergic reactions after taking this medicine.
  • You have any problems with your liver or kidney.
  • You have any type of heart problems like heart attack, very slow heart rate and salt imbalance.
  • You have glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency (an inherited disorder that affects red blood cells).
  • Your age is 60 years or above.

  • Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
  • Especially, if you are taking medicines to treat your psychiatric illnesses, diabetes, gout, fits or epilepsy.
  • Blood sugar can drop if you are on insulin or Glibenclamide. Careful monitoring of blood glucose is needed.
  • Increased chances of bleeding if taken along with blood thinners like warfarin.
  • Medicines used to treat pain and inflammation (NSAID's) can increase the chance of fits.
  • Medicines used to treat acidity (antacids) like Sucralfate, antacids containing calcium and magnesium should not be taken two hours before or after the Levomac Oz Tablet.

A: You are supposed to complete the prescribed duration by your physician. If you skip the dose or do not complete the course, it may cause resistance and decrease the effectiveness of treatment.
