Levitra 10 MG Description

Levitra 10 mg tablet contains Vardenafil,its active ingredient. It is commonly prescribed for a condition called erectile dysfunction (inability to get or keep a penile erection such that it is suf

ficient for satisfactory sexual intercourse) in men. The primary action of Levitra tablets is by relaxing the blood vessels and consequently increasing blood flow to certain body parts, especially the penile region. It is important to note that sexual stimulation is necessary to deem the Levitra tablet effective. Therefore, it is to be taken orally, swallowed whole with a glass of water approximately twenty-five to sixty minutes before any sexual activity. The dose, frequency and duration of medication are to be followed strictly as per the doctor’s advice. Do not use substitutes or alternate forms without having consulted your doctor. Common side effects of Levitra tablet include hypotension (fall in blood pressure), leading to dizziness, headache, flushing (increased blood flow to the face), nasal congestion, visual disturbances (disturbance in vision), general malaise (feeling unwell), priapism (painful or prolonged erection of the penis without any preceding sexual stimulation), etc. However, the doctor must be informed immediately in case of serious adverse effects. The doctor should be informed of the ongoing medications for any liver or kidney ailments, ongoing dialysis, history of loss of vision in one eye (non-arteritic ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION)), patients with severe cardiovascular disorders such as the history of cardiac arrest (heart attack) or failure, and the exact age in case of young individuals.

Diagnosed liver disease
Diagnosed kidney disease
Ongoing dialysis
History of loss of vision in one eye (non-arteritic ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION))
Patients with a history of cardiac arrest (heart attack) or cardiac failure
History of stroke
History of hypotensive episodes
Seizures or fits (Epilepsy)
Bleeding disorders (haemophilia, Factor V deficiency, etc)
Blood disorders like sickle cell anaemia, leukaemia or multiple myeloma
Physical deformity of the penis
Individuals below the age of 18 years

Levitra 10 mg tablet is not indicated for any condition or ailment in the female population and has no therapeutic value that warrants a prescription. It is not advised for females to consume Levitra 10 mg tablet. Kindly consult your doctor if a dose is consumed by mistake.

Can I drive if I have taken the Levitra 10 mg tablet?

Levitra 10 mg tablets can cause a sudden fall in blood pressure leading to an increased tendency to sleep, dizziness or even syncope (sudden fainting episode). It is advisable to avoid driving while on medication, especially at night or having recently consumed your dose. Kindly consult your doctor regarding the same.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with the Levitra 10 mg tablet?

Even though studies have not shown any significant interaction between alcohol and Vardenafil, it is advisable to abstain from the consumption of alcohol while on medication. Alcohol inherently causes difficulty in the initiation of an erection. Additionally, it is a depressor of the central nervous system, leading to a fall in blood pressure and dizziness, thereby exaggerating the side effects of Levitra 10 mg tablet. Alcohol, in general, has the propensity to alter the absorption and metabolism of most medications, thereby it shouldn’t be consumed while you are taking Levitra 10 mg tablets. Kindly consult your doctor in case of any eventuality.
