Latoprost 50 MCG Description
Latoprost RT eye drops contain latanoprost as the active substance. It is used to treat conditions of increased pressure in the eyes like open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. Latoprost RT eye drops work by increasing the outflow of fluid from inside the eyes into the blood. This medicine is meant for ocular (eye) use and should be used externally only. Do not ingest this medicine. Avoid touching the dropper with your hands or with your eye. Use Latoprost RT eye drops exactly as recommended by your doctor. Do not use this medicine on your own.

Uses of Latoprost 50 MCG
- Latoprost RT eye drops are used for the treatment of conditions of increased pressure in the eyes like open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension in adults.
- This medicine can also be used in children to treat increased eye pressure and glaucoma.
Contraindications of Latoprost 50 MCG
- If you are allergic to latanoprost or to any of the other ingredients of Latoprost RT eye drops.
- If you are pregnant or trying to become pregnant.
- If you are breastfeeding.

- Eye irritation (burning, itching, stinging).
- Changes in eyelash (increased length, thickness, number of eyelashes).

Other General Warnings
Talk to your doctor if

- You or your child have or had a viral infection of the eye caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV).
Directions for Use of Latoprost 50 MCG
- Use Latoprost RT eye drops exactly as instructed by your doctor.
- Follow the directions carefully and do not miss an application.
- Wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying.
- Close your eyes for 2 - 3 minutes and do not blink or squeeze.
- Avoid touching your eyes with the dropper. The dropper must be kept clean to avoid infections.
- Using a clean tissue or cloth, wipe any excess liquid from your face.
- Use the exact number of drops as recommended by your doctor.
- If you have been prescribed any other eye drops or eye ointments, keep an interval of at least 5 minutes between both the medicines.
Storage and disposal of Latoprost 50 MCG
- Store Latoprost RT eye drops in a refrigerator (2°C – 8°C).
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.
Dosage of Latoprost 50 MCG
Overdose
- As Latoprost RT eye drops are meant for external application, cases of an overdose are unlikely.
- However, upon accidental ingestion, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.
- If you have instilled an extra quantity of the eye drop than recommended, wipe out the excess medicine with a clean tissue or cotton.
Missed a Dose
If you have missed instilling a dose of Latoprost RT eye drops, instil it as soon as possible. Do not over-use this medicine to compensate for the missed instillation.
