Medical Description
Ivernol shampoo is used to treat head lice and their eggs on the hair and scalp. It contains ivermectin, an antiparasitic medicine that acts on lice nerve and muscle activity, causing paralysis and death. The shampoo is applied to dry hair and scalp, kept on for the advised time and then rinsed thoroughly; a fine-toothed comb can remove dead lice and nits. It is for external use only and must not be swallowed or put in the eyes, mouth, nose or other body openings.
