Medical Description

Iprazest 50/ metered-dose inhaler is used to relieve wheezing, chest tightness and breathlessness caused by chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. It contains a combination of ipratropium bromide and levosalbutamol, which are airway-opening medicines with different actions. Ipratropium reduces signals that tighten airway muscles, while levosalbutamol relaxes those muscles so air can move more freely. Iprazest inhaler is breathed into the lungs through the mouth and is used for regular control, not for sudden severe breathlessness.

How does this medicine work?

The two ingredients open narrowed airways in different ways. The action of ipratropium reduces the nerve signals that tighten airway muscles. Levosalbutamol relaxes the muscles around the airways. Together, they improve airflow and ease wheezing, chest tightness and shortness of breath.

In particular, other anticholinergic inhalers can increase dry mouth or blurred vision; beta-blockers may reduce airway opening; water tablets and steroids may lower potassium; medicines for heart rhythm or low mood may increase heartbeat effects; and other bronchodilators may worsen shaking or palpitations.
