Contraindications
- If you have a known allergy to phenobarbital or any of the other inactive components, you should not use this medication.
- If you have severe liver disorders, this medicine is not recommended due to the increased risk of the patient's condition worsening.
- If you have Porphyria, this medicine is not recommended due to the increased risk of side effects.
- If you have COPD -chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. This drug is not suggested for patients with COPD because of the increased risk of the patient's condition worsening.

- You have suicidal thoughts
- Suicidal thoughts and increased suicidal tendencies are linked with this medication in young patients.
- You have a history of drug addiction and drug abuse
- This medication has the potential to cause substance abuse and addiction. If the medicine is taken for an extended period, the risk increases. Stopping it all at once isn't a good idea because it can trigger withdrawal symptoms.
- You have a skin reaction
- Gardenal Syrup should be used with caution because it can induce severe skin reactions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis.
- You have a liver disease
- Because of the increased risk of severe side effects, use this drug with caution in individuals with mild to moderate liver disease.
- You have renal dysfunction
- While taking this medication, it's important to keep a close eye on your kidney function.
- You have serotonin syndrome
- When combined with other serotonergic medicines, this treatment might produce a syndrome characterised by agitation, enhanced reflexes, tremor, sweating, dilated pupils, and diarrhoea.
Directions for Use

- Do not stop using the syrup without your doctor's approval.
- You can take the Gardenal Syrup with or without food.
