Flumod 20 MG Description

Flumod Tablets are used to treat sudden depression and manage major depressive disorders. It is also used short-term treatment and maintenance of symptoms of panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive diso

rder (pattern of repetitive and unwanted thoughts and behavious), eating disorder (bulimia nervosa) are some of the other uses of Flumod Tablets. This medicine has a single active ingredient: Fluoxetine is an antidepressant medication. The mode of action of Flumod Tablets is by balancing the brain's chemical substances that slow down the overworked nervous system. It also stabilises mood and causes behaviour changes. It is not a habit-forming medicine, but some people with a history of addiction use it. Suddenly, stopping this medicine can cause withdrawal symptoms like cramps, sweating, vomiting, and tremors. So its dose should be slowly lowered. Panic disorder, depression, and other mood and behavioural disorders affect a person's everyday life, which lowers the quality of life. They can lead to severe psychological stress. The proper dosage of Flumod Tablets helps in managing these symptoms. Take these tablets in the exact dose prescribed by the doctor.

As per CDSCO and USFDA, Flumod Tablets is used in the short term and long term maintenance and treatment of
Major Depressive Disorder (reduces mood fluctuations and improves behaviour)
Obsessive-Compulsive disorder (lowers repetitive and patterned actions and thoughts)
Panic Disorder, with or without agoraphobia ( fear of open space or crowds)
Bulimia Nervosa (eating disorder)

Contraindications of Flumod 20 MG

If you have any allergic reaction to Fluoxetine to any ingredient of Flumod Tablets
If you notice sudden mood fluctuations or suicidal thoughts
If you have used different antidepressant medications in the last 14 days
If you are diagnosed with tardive dyskinesia (stiff, uncontrollable body movements)
If you have conditions that cause hyperprolactinemia (high prolactin levels)
If you are diagnosed with an eye condition like narrow-angle glaucoma. The Flumod Tablets can increase the fluid pressure inside the eye
If you are diagnosed with neuroleptic malignant syndrome (a rare reaction to antipsychotic medicines that affects the nervous system)
If you have severe blockage in the stomach and intestines due to paralytic ileus (decreased movements of intestines)
