Flucostat 150 MG Description
Flucostat 150mg tablet is a medication containing fluconazole. It is used to treat fungal infections across the body. It works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol which is integral in the forma
tion of the fungal cell membrane. This tablet should be taken for the dose and duration advised by your physician. The dose and the duration of this medicine vary among individuals depending on the severity and condition it is being used for. Do not take more than the prescribed dose of medication within 24 hours. If you observe any severe symptoms or have overdosed on the medication, contact your physician immediately or rush to the nearest hospital.

- Do not chew, crush or break the tablet in half
- Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water
- Take it with or without food as advised by your doctor
Interactions of Flucostat 150 MG
Interactions with other medicines
- Concomitant use of cisapride with fluconazole increases the risk of harmful cardiac events
- Co-administration of terfenadine with fluconazole increases the occurrence of serious cardiac dysrhythmias
- Co-administration of fluconazole with astemizole may reduce the clearance of astemizole
- Concomitant administration of fluconazole with pimozide may result in inhibition of pimozide metabolism
- Co-administration of fluconazole and erythromycin has the potential to increase the risk of cardiotoxicity
- Concomitant use of fluconazole with amiodarone may increase QT prolongation
- Fluconazole has the potential to increase the systemic exposure of calcium channel antagonists
- Co-administration of fluconazole with methadone may enhance the serum concentration of methadone
