Ferrogen-xt Tablet

Ferrogen XT tablet is a supplement that contains a combination of vitamin B9 (Folic acid) and iron, two vital components for maintaining optimal health. Folic acid is an essential vitamin that plays a crucial role in the synthesis of DNA and amino acids, which are fundamental for cell division and the development of blood cells. Iron is a vital mineral required by the body for the formation of haemoglobin, which is responsible for carrying oxygen from the lungs to all parts of the body. It also plays a significant role in immunity, hormone formation, and regulating body temperature.

The supplement is used for the treatment and prevention of iron and folic acid deficiency, a condition known as anaemia. Anaemia is characterised by symptoms such as weakness, fatigue, difficulty breathing, headache, irritability, and difficulty concentrating. It is also used as a nutritional supplement during pregnancy and breastfeeding to prevent deficiencies, after surgery, or in conditions of nutritional malabsorption.

Consuming this supplement in excess may lead to skin rashes, stomach discomfort, diarrhoea, and vomiting. It can also interfere with the absorption of other essential nutrients, such as zinc and vitamin B12. It is recommended to maintain a minimum gap of two hours when taking this supplement with certain medications, such as antacids, chloramphenicol, and bisphosphonates. Consultation with a doctor is necessary if you are taking medicines such as Phenytoin (for epilepsy), Methotrexate (for cancer), and Sulfasalazine (for ulcers).

The supplement should be taken as advised by a doctor, preferably one hour before a meal. Avoid tea or coffee when taking it. It is important not to exceed the recommended daily dose. Store in a cool, dry place and keep out of the reach of children. It is intended to supplement the diet and should not be a substitute for a well-balanced, varied diet and a healthy lifestyle.
