Faronem ER Tablet

• It is used to treat bacterial infections like upper and lower respiratory infections.
• It is used to treat urinary tract infection and skin infections.

• If you are allergic to the medicine or other ingredients of the medicine.
• If you are allergic to other antibiotics (beta-lactam) like Penicillin derivatives, Cephalosporins, Monobactams, Carbapenems.

• Diarrhoea
• Nausea or feeling sick

• Stomach pain
• Rashes
• Sweating
• Headache

Other General Warnings

• You suffer from an allergy to antibiotics like Penicillin, Cephem or Carbapenem.
• You suffer from an inherent tendency for allergic reactions (also known as atopy) or you have kidney problems.
• You are not able to take a diet orally or develop a sign of malnutrition or sign of vitamin K deficiency (easy bleeding), the doctor might need you to monitor.
• You suffer from persistent diarrhoea, the doctor may discontinue the treatment.

• Store the medicine below 25°C.
• Keep it in the original container, away from children and pets.

• Faronem ER Tablet is a beta-lactam antibiotic that treats various bacterial infections in the urinary tract, respiratory tract, skin, ears, nose, and gynaecological infections. Bacterial infections occur when harmful bacteria multiply in the body, causing illness. The tablet contains Faropenem, an antibiotic that eliminates bacteria by preventing the formation of their cell wall, which is essential for their survival. It should be taken as prescribed by a doctor, who will determine the appropriate dosage based on the patient's medical condition.
• Possible side effects of Faronem ER Tablet may include nausea, diarrhoea, stomach pain, and rash. These side effects typically resolve over time but if they persist or worsen, it is advisable to consult a doctor.
• Patients who are allergic to Faronem ER Tablet 6's or any other medications should inform their doctor. Additionally, individuals who are pregnant, breastfeeding, have kidney problems, a family history of atopy, glucose-galactose malabsorption, Lapp lactase deficiency, or galactose intolerance should also inform their doctor before taking this medication.
• In some cases, Faronem ER Tablet may lead to vitamin K or vitamin B deficiency, particularly in older patients and those with poor oral intake. If symptoms such as easy bleeding, loss of appetite, tongue swelling, or stomatitis (mouth sores) are noticed, a doctor should be consulted.

Overdose

Missed a Dose

• If you have missed taking a dose of the medicine, take it as soon as you remember.
• If it's time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with the regular dose schedule.
• Avoid taking a double dose of medicine to compensate for the missed one.

How Does It Work?

Interactions with other medicines

• Faronem Er 300 Mg tablet interact with other medicines and produce an altered response. Inform the doctor if you are using other medicines, over-the-counter medicines (that you buy without a prescription) and herbal preparations.
• Concomitant use of Imipenem and Cilastatin sodium along with Faronem Er 300 Mg tablet must be avoided.
• When it is used along with Sodium Valproate to treat fits/epilepsy causes reoccurrence of fits or epilepsy.
• If used along with water pills like Furosemide, it causes adverse effects on the kidney.
