Uses
- According to CDSCO, Escitapax Plus L is used to treat the following:
- Anxiety disorder
- Alleviating mood swings in anxiety disorder
Contraindications
- Escitapax Plus L tablet is contraindicated in the following cases:
- If you have a known allergy to clonazepam or escitalopram, you should not use the Escitapax Plus L tablet
- If you have taken MAOIs (Monoamine oxidase inhibitors) within the last 14 days, do not take Escitapax Plus L tablets.
- If you are taking Pimozide, the Escitapax Plus L tablet is not suggested for use as it can increase the risk of QT prolongation
- If you are suffering from narrow-angle glaucoma, taking the Escitapax Plus L tablet can increase intraocular pressure
- If you have liver problems, the Escitapax Plus L tablet can be unsafe for you as it can worsen your condition
- If you have chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma, the respiratory depressive effects of the Escitapax Plus L tablet can be fatal
- If you have renal impairment or are on medication for kidney disorders, you should avoid taking an Escitapax Plus L tablet

- Impaired memory
- Confusion
- Drowsiness
- Fatigue
- Diarrhoea
- Delayed ejaculation

Other General Warnings
- You are elderly and bedridden patients with caution, as the danger of side effects is more than in healthy people.
- You are taking other medication or have allergies related to the constituents of these medicines.
- You experience a drop in blood pressure with Escitapax Plus L tablets in large doses.
- You experience decreased sexual drive after taking the Escitapax Plus L tablet.
- You have abnormally high or low blood pressure.
- You experience depressing or suicidal thoughts. In that case, inform the psychiatrist.
- You have personality disorders or organic brain syndrome.
Directions for Use
- Read all of the directions on the pack carefully.
- Consult your doctor for the dosage and frequency of the Escitapax Plus L tablet.
- Do not handle the pills with damp hands.
- Take Escitapax Plus L pills every day at the same time.
- Follow your doctor's instructions when taking the Escitapax Plus L tablet.
- Swallow Escitapax Plus L tablets whole without crushing, chewing, breaking, or opening.
- Take the Escitapax Plus L tablet with food at the same time every day. Avoid caffeine-containing foods.
- Continue taking this medication until your doctor instructs you differently, even if you feel better.
- Talk to your doctor before stopping the medication.

Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- The combined use of Escitapax Plus L and valproic acid is associated with the absence of seizures.
- Atenolol (Beta-blockers) and clonazepam interaction can lower blood pressure in those with hypertension.
- Anticonvulsants like Carbamazepine interact with Escitapax Plus L by decreasing its therapeutic effect.
- Ethinyl Estradiol and Escitapax Plus L, if taken simultaneously, the expected effect of contraceptive pills will not be achieved.
- When taken together, Amikacin and Escitapax Plus L may have nausea or vomiting, abrupt weight gain, and fluid retention.
- Antibiotics and Escitapax Plus L together can increase the risk of irregular heartbeat.
- CNS depressants interact with Escitapax Plus L tablets leading to an increase in levels of clonazepam in blood serum.
- Antifungal medications like itraconazole and ketoconazole may cause clonazepam toxicity, due to interaction with Escitapax Plus L.
- Furosemide interactions with Escitapax Plus L cause nausea or vomiting, increased or reduced urine, abrupt weight gain, and fluid retention.
- When Chloramphenicol and Escitapax Plus L interact, the anticipated effect will not be achieved.
Interactions with food items
- While using Escitapax Plus L tablet, stay away from caffeine-containing meals like tea, coffee, and chocolates. Coffee stimulates the brain, and Escitapax Plus L relaxes it. As a result, drinking too much coffee may limit this prescription's ability to relax the brain, worsening the problem.
