Medical Description
Ematra capsule contains tretinoin, a natural retinoic acid compound used as a differentiating agent in cancer therapy. It acts in the body to help immature, cancerous blood cells mature into more mature, functional white blood cells.
It attaches to target sites inside cells to restore normal gene regulation and differentiation, helping immature leukemic cells mature normally and eventually die. This helps reduce cancerous cells and restore normal blood cell production without using cytotoxic chemotherapy mechanisms.
Common side effects of Ematra capsule include headache, fever, dry skin, dry mouth or lips, skin redness, bone pain, tiredness, nausea, vomiting, and temporary digestive upset.
Contact your doctor immediately if you experience signs of an allergic reaction (such as a skin rash, itching, or swelling of the face, lips, or throat), sudden shortness of breath, severe chest pain, persistent high fever, rapid weight gain, swelling in your legs, or severe headache with visual disturbances.
Ematra capsule is taken orally as capsules, as specifically prescribed by your doctor.
