Medical Description
Egymelan powder for injection is a specialist medicine used for multiple myeloma and selected advanced diseases affecting the ovaries. It contains melphalan, an alkylating medicine that damages the genetic material of rapidly multiplying abnormal cells, slowing their growth. The treatment can also affect healthy cells that divide quickly, so blood counts and organ function need close monitoring. The powder is prepared and given into a vein by a doctor or nurse in a hospital or clinic, and it must not be self-administered.
