Medical Description
Ecosprin 150 tablet is an antiplatelet medicine. It is used to prevent the risk of heart attacks, stroke and angina. Blood clots can limit or block the passage of blood to essential organs, resulting in a heart attack or stroke. Ecosprin 150 tablet contains aspirin (low dose) as the active ingredient. It slows down blood clotting by preventing the platelets from sticking to one another. This helps to decrease the formation of blood clots within the blood vessels, which reduces the risk of angina, heart attack and stroke.
Angina is a type of heart-related chest pain that occurs when there is reduced blood flow to the heart. A heart attack is a condition in which the blood supply to the heart is blocked, usually by a blood clot. A stroke occurs when the blood vessel that supplies blood to the brain is blocked or bursts and leaks.
Delisprin 150 tablets also contain aspirin as its active medicine. Take Ecosprin 150 tablets in the exact dose and duration as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take more than the recommended dose. Do not stop taking this medicine on your own. Before starting this medicine, inform your doctor if you have high blood pressure, lung disease, stomach ulcer, blood clotting problems, heavy menstrual bleeding, gout or if you recently had a stroke.
You should inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding and about your detailed medical history. Also, inform the doctor about all other medicines and supplements you are taking.
While taking Ecosprin 150 tablet, you can incorporate certain lifestyle modifications to boost your health, such as reducing smoking and alcohol intake, regular exercise and eating a healthy balanced diet rich in fruits and vegetables.

Mode of Action
How Does It Work?
- Ecosprin 150 is an antiplatelet medicine. It inhibits the action of an enzyme, which makes platelets aggregate together to form a blood clot. When clot formation occurs in blood vessels, blood flow is obstructed or blocked, which is dangerous in heart attack cases and leads to stroke or chest pain (angina).
- In low doses, aspirin stops these platelets from forming a clot so that blood flows without obstruction in the arteries.
Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Certain medicines can affect the way Ecosprin 150 works, or this medicine itself can alter the action of other medicines taken along. Inform your doctor about your complete medication history.
- Especially if you are taking steroids, painkillers, antacids, medicines for heart and brain-related disorders, and immunomodulators.
- Concomitant use of methotrexate (used to treat certain types of cancer) with aspirin must be avoided.
- Aspirin reverses the effect of probenecid (used to treat gout). Hence, this combination must be avoided.
- Other anticoagulants or antiplatelet agents must be used cautiously with aspirin due to the risk of bleeding.
- Aspirin increases the blood-glucose-lowering effect of certain antidiabetics. Hence, it must be used cautiously.
- Aspirin may reduce the blood pressure-lowering effect of antihypertensive medicines like water pills. Inform the doctor.
