Medical Description
Zoldonat Injection is used for the treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women and in men who are at increased risk of fracture, including those with a recent low-trauma hip fracture. It contains zoledronic acid as its active ingredient, which belongs to the bisphosphonates class of medicines. The dose, duration, and frequency of the treatment will be decided by your doctor after assessing your condition. Zoldonat Injection will be given to you at a hospital under the medical supervision of the doctor and nurse. Do not self-inject, and follow any aftercare instructions given by your doctor.

- You have low calcium levels, as these should be corrected before treatment.
- You have or have had kidney problems.
- You are dehydrated or have difficulty maintaining adequate fluid intake.
- You have a history of jaw problems or dental disease.
- You are having dental treatment or are due to undergo dental surgery.
- You experience unusual signs in the mouth or teeth, such as jaw pain, swelling, loose teeth, or non-healing sores, as these may be signs of osteonecrosis of the jaw.
- You experience new or persistent pain in the thigh, hip, or groin, as this may rarely indicate an atypical thigh-bone fracture.
- Maintain good oral hygiene and have regular dental check-ups during treatment.

Interactions with other medicines
- Some medicines may increase the risk of side effects when used with Zoldonat Injection. Tell your doctor about all medicines, supplements, and herbal products you take.
- Medicines that can affect kidney function may increase the risk of kidney problems.
- Other medicines that lower blood calcium levels may increase the risk of low calcium levels (hypocalcaemia).
- Do not use another medicine containing zoledronic acid or another bisphosphonate unless specifically advised by your doctor.
