Uses
- As per USFDA, Doxin Capsule is used for the following conditions
- Psychotic depression (severe depressive disorder includes some types of psychosis such as hallucinations, delusions, etc.)
- Neurotic depression (neurotic depression is depression in an emotionally unstable patient)
- Involutional depression
- Manic depressive disorders
- Depression or anxiety associated with organic disease (the possibility of medical interaction should be considered if the patient is receiving other medicine at the same time).
- Depression and anxiety associated with alcohol addiction (not to be taken along with alcohol).
- Insomnia in children with ADHD (Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder).
Contraindications
- If you have a known allergic reaction to any of its components.
- If you are already using other antidepressants or antipsychotics.
- If you have any serious heart condition, like a heart attack, irregular heart rhythm.
- If you have a rare blood-related illness known as porphyria.
- If you were previously diagnosed with bipolar disorder or mania.
- If you have severe liver impairment.
- If you are currently expecting or planning for a pregnancy.
- If you are breastfeeding.
- If you have closed-angle glaucoma, a severe eye condition.
- If you notice any sudden mood changes and self-harming or suicidal thoughts.

- Your blood pressure suddenly drops; Doxin Capsules can lower blood pressure when you suddenly change your position.
- You have prostate gland disorder.
- You are using other herbal medicines and supplements.
- You are an older adult.
- You have any surgery or dental procedure planned.
- You have any kidney or liver conditions.
Directions for Use
- Take the Doxin Capsule exactly as prescribed by the doctor.
- Do not change the dose of Doxin Capsule, even if you do not see its effects.
- Do not try to break this capsule or chew it and the pill as a whole with a glass of water.
- It is better to not take it with other medications without informing your doctor.
- Do not use Doxin capsule medicine if its packaging has been already opened.
- Do not suddenly stop taking the Doxin Capsule, as it can cause adverse effects from withdrawal.
- You can take Doxin capsule medication with or without consuming food.

How Does It Work?
Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Do not use the Doxin capsule if you are currently using other antidepressants like MAO inhibitors such as linezolid, methylene blue, phenelzine, selegiline, etc., because they can lead to severe side effects like tremors, severe seizures, etc. It can sometimes even lead to death. At least a 14-day gap should be between taking these two medications.
- Do not use other antidepressants with a similar composition like amitriptyline, imipramine, etc. They can exaggerate the side effects of Doxin capsule medicine.
- Do not use Doxin Capsules with other medicines that cause sedation and drowsiness, like tranquillisers, opioid or narcotic pain relievers, muscle relaxants, etc., without consulting a doctor.
- If you use antibiotics, antifungals, migraine medicines, Doxin Capsules can decrease their effects.
- Doxin Capsules can have interactions and side effects with stomach ulcers, antimalarial medicines, heart medicines, and blood thinners.
Interactions with food items
- Try to avoid drinking grapefruit juice and cranberry juice or eating those fruits while taking Doxin Capsules, as they can increase the levels of this medicine in your blood. It can lead to unwanted adverse effects.
