Diamicron Xr 60 MG Description

Diamicron XR 60 tablet contains Gliclazide, an antidiabetic agent used in adults to treat Type II diabetes mellitus when diet, exercise and lifestyle changes alone are insufficient. Type II diabetes is characterized by high blood glucose levels due to inadequate insulin production or reduced sensitivity of body cells to insulin.

During treatment with Diamicron XR 60 tablet, your doctor may advise lifestyle modifications like a healthy diet, regular exercise and abstaining from alcohol.

Before taking Diamicron XR 60 tablet, inform your doctor about any liver or kidney problems, hormonal issues, genetic disorders (such as G6PD deficiency), malnourishment or irregular diet. This medication is not suitable for patients with type I diabetes mellitus.

One common side effect of Diamicron XR 60 tablet is hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), which may cause increased hunger, sweating, shakiness, weakness or an irregular heartbeat. Regular blood sugar monitoring and dose adjustments will be made by your doctor to avoid this condition. Keep a sugary snack on hand in case of hypoglycemia symptoms. Report to your doctor if no improvement occurs. Headache, dizziness and constipation are other common side effects.

Before using Diamicron XR 60 tablet, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, breastfeeding or have a detailed medical history. Proper medical guidance and adherence to the prescribed regimen will aid in managing diabetes effectively with Diamicron XR 60 tablets.
